What Passportkit is

Passportkit is a record-keeping app. You enter details of passports, visas, travel authorisations, insurance policies, currency purchases and trips, and the app organises them and warns you when something looks wrong.

It is not a government service, a visa agency, an insurer or a broker. It has no connection to any issuing authority, and nothing it tells you is an official determination of your right to travel.

The checks are guidance, not a guarantee

Passportkit applies published rules — six months of passport validity, the Schengen 90/180 count, the medical cover a Schengen visa requires — to the information you have entered. Two things follow.

First, a check is only as good as the data behind it. If a passport's expiry date is entered wrongly, every warning that depends on it will be wrong too.

Second, entry rules change, are applied differently by different officers, and vary with your nationality and purpose of travel. The app does not know which visas your nationality requires, and it says so where that matters.

Always confirm with the airline, embassy or border authority before you travel. Passportkit does not accept liability for a refused boarding or a refused entry.

Your account

You need an account to use the app, and you are responsible for keeping access to it secure. One person holds the account; a family plan lets that person record documents belonging to the people they name, with their agreement.

Do not record other people's documents without their knowledge.

Subscriptions and payment

Some features require a subscription. Subscriptions are sold and charged through the App Store or Google Play, not by us directly, and they renew until you cancel.

Cancel or request a refund through the store you bought from — we cannot process either on your behalf. Cancelling stops the next renewal; it does not refund the period you are in.

If a subscription lapses, your records are not deleted. Reading stays available; adding and editing stop until it is renewed.

Acceptable use

Do not use Passportkit to store documents you are not entitled to hold, to impersonate anyone, or to attempt to reach another person's records. Do not attempt to disrupt the service or extract data from it in bulk.

Ending it

You may stop using the app and delete your account at any time, from Privacy & Security. Deletion removes your records from our systems and cannot be undone.

We may suspend an account that breaches these terms, or close the service altogether with reasonable notice and an opportunity to export.

Liability

Passportkit is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for travel costs, missed flights, refused entry, or losses arising from your reliance on the app rather than on the airline, embassy or border authority.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Changes

These terms may change. The current version is always the one shown in the app, and the date at the top tells you when it last moved. Continuing to use Passportkit after a change means you accept it.
